No, it absolutely sticks to clothing etc. even if outdoors much like cigarettes.
Comment on They definitely can't tell, trust me
Doomsider@lemmy.world 18 hours agoI think smoking in confined places is the culprit. If they went outside to smoke only their fingers or breath would stank.

Not saying it can’t stick to clothing, but having been around a lot of cigarettes and marijuana in my life I can say they are considerably different. Marijuana does not stick to clothing in the same way cigarettes do. Often times the stink comes from someone having unsmoked marijuana on their person.
When smoking outdoors it doesn’t stick to clothing or the body much, but this can vary depending on how you smoke it (joints compared to a pipe are more likely to stick because of excess smoke and resin).

And much like cigarettes it’s heavily mitigated by airing, still. Source : used to smoke a lot, exclusively outside. Now smoke a lot less, mostly inside. I smell worse.

Ironically I’ve once caught a whiff of ganja smell emanating from an establishment, while walking past it on the street. It’s a six-lane street with a divider, pretty busy car traffic, and lawns on the sides, in a relatively windy city, and still I knew exactly where the smell came from.

I once hit a dead skunk and for the next two years when anyone would get in my car they would give me the look. I got tired of denying it after awhile and just went with it.
