I said “In this context” (using it to keep a room cool), a heat pump is AC.
No generalization, specifically just this usecase.

It is fun to take the copy-pasta and modify it to fit any all X are Y but not all Y are X type situations, to reference this bit of our shared internet history in a tongue in cheek manner. I don’t really have any problem with calling heat pumps multi-purpose A/Cs.
