Comment on The size of Portugal compared to Spain
owsei@programming.dev 5 hours agoMercator’s deformation show up when you move countries north/south. Since Portugal only moved slightly East the apparent size basically didn’t change. (You can even see and compare real Portugal just left of the red projection)

I feel like this post is taking a picture of a cube, calling it a cube, then I’m supposed to doubt that it’s a cube. Which I wouldn’t…
