Not everyone is the same and I think that’s the point. Everyone has different personal lives. Some people have ill family members that need extra care, some people have kids, etc.
Totally fair it doesn’t work for you. There’s a lot of talk about neurodivergency these days too and likely part of it. Different people’s brains also work differently, of course.
I’m all for flexibility. It’s truly a simple problem - you’re expected to complete a certain amount of something during a day, you have deadlines. Does it matter how or when it gets done as long as it’s done on time?
It’s all just managing expectations.

Most people just want to be able to work their way and only be judged on the work done. If for you that means you still want a strict 9-5 or whatever then go ahead. They’re not trying to stop your ability to do that.
