I can’t really say I blame you. For me, it was her weed dealer whom she spent entirely too long with on pickups.

Ah, you got roughly the same drug-infused version I did, then. In my case, she was texting some truck driver from 1500 miles away that she had met playing WoW who convinced her that kratom and Adderall were the solutions to all of her problems.

Some people are just assholes. Drugs likely exacerbate that, but in the case of pot (and kratom, to some extent), generally people are more chill.
I mean, she was very clearly wearing a wedding collar. Dude knew damn well she was claimed, but he started doing the whole “I’m sorry you’re going through a rough patch with your husband; how can I help?” thing.
Then offered to buy her a house in cash if she left me. The house didn’t materialize. Surprise, surprise, he was an abusive dick that even she didn’t want to put up with.

Oof, I feel you there. Mine was actually already on the deed to the house I bought for us, but wouldn’t let me marry her because Trucky McMethhead had her convinced I was abusing her, while also doing the “shoulder to cry on” bit. Seems like it’s a common playbook.
Hope you’ve found peace, whether that’s on your own or with someone who sucks less.
