Comment on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Falls Out of the U.S. Top 20 Games for the First Time in Six Years - IGN
smeg@feddit.uk 2 years agoI just meant in the sense that it was in the top 20 games in the US. Of course its the most popular mario kart game at the time, but I had no idea people play it enough to generate a concurrent playerbase that large.
With the general lack of content beyond the initial unlocks/DLC and track packs, I wouldn’t think there was that many people playing essentially becomes a time trial game every day. Then again I play wow now so maybe I do understand.
This is to do with sales, not any concurrent active player metric. Even if it weren’t though, Mario Kart is about playing with friends locally!
Just need to get some friends…
Everyone’s your friend when you’ve got Mario Kart! (Then you blue shell them on the line and you’re back where you started, worth it though)
