I heard some trick about opening a window on the opposite side then opening and shutting the door a bunch of times to pump the hot air out

Fortunately it was not as hot as I feared. It is also an advantage of having a van with a panel directly behind the front seats, there is not a lot of space that needs to be cooled down so it doesn’t take too long.
