MimicJar@lemmy.world 2 months agoThe cable is fiber optic, which is to say light. Light don’t care about gold and silver. The highly polished lens but is probably also bullshit, but at least light cares about lenses.

The gold isn’t there to conduct anything, it’s there to prevent corrosion, gold doesn’t rust or tarnish.
