Really depends on the airline. Lufthansa will rarely send you on a bus. But the answer is because they don’t have enough gates for all the planes.

HobbitFoot@thelemmy.club 2 weeks agoYeah, but I’ve taken the bus to the airplane at major airports in the EU including Frankfurt. In contrast, the airports in the US that I’ve had to board on stairs are much smaller.
