- Brush: Chisel and Hound – Screwdjriver with v28 Fanchurian
- Razor: C.V. Heljestrand MK № 10 (6/8", square point, half hollow, carbon steel)
- Lather: Catie’s Bubbles – Dranks
- Post Shave: Catie’s Bubbles – Dranks
- Fragrance: Catie’s Bubbles – Dranks
Dranks is some good stuff, glad I sprung for it. Today was one of those rare (for me) shaves of multiple days of beard. I’ve been recovering from a nasty pneumonia and shaving wasn’t a priority, but today, my lungs don’t rattle anymore when I breathe, so cheering with Dranks seems like a good choice. Looks like I’m getting better just in time for the holidays.

Oh yeah, not fun at all, and a bit scary in the moment

Very glad to hear you’re on the mend. I think the № 10 is an undiscovered gem. I am always surprised by how good it is.

Agreed. It’s like the TI Le Dandy or the Puma 88 that way: the geometry isn’t special in any way, but they shave great I suspect it’s the steel that feels so nice?

I think the steel is a major factor. Also, the build quality of these Heljestrands is so satisfying.

Glad to hear you’re on the road to recovery! Pneumonia is a very serious condition, so it’s good that you’re able to breathe easier. Hope you’re able to make a full recovery by January!

Thanks! I’m recovering nicely, and it feels like I’ll be back on skis by January 🤞

Pneumonia usually requires intense medication (antibiotics, glucocorticoids, inhalations, etc.), and breathing exercises once it’s getting better. I’m sure you’ll manage it together with your doctor(s). Downhill Skiing would be a great activity once you’ve recovered, since it’s outdoors with plenty oxygen around and not too strenuous on the body 👍🏻
