  Till was absolutely lynched - that is beyond doubt - and lynching is absolutely never OK.

  Yet, I am obsessed with examining the real truth of an event, right... Rarely are there incidents that read like

  Was completely minding my own business For no reason at all, I'm lynched

  It really might be more like

  Till totally intimidated and grabbed the hips of a white woman at night She was rightfully very afraid Oh no Emmett you're in the American south /gameover

  In this last scenario, there are no heroes. The lynching still absolutely should not have and cannot happen in any sane society. That is always clear.

  But... it is also the case that in a sane society we should have the right to attack every sacred cow & suggest counter-narratives to everything.
