As someone who was an adult when it came out but didn’t see it until years later.
It’s an adequate live-action adaptation of a classic piece of animation. With Christmas coming up you should probably go ahead and give it a watch, if for no other reason than to say you did.

I appreciate your point of view, as someone who saw it at a younger age, I’m sure I have some nostalgic bias’s
