Iād spend a stupid amount of time rereading and editing my comment, and then there was still probably a 50% chance Iād discard it anyway. On Lemmy, after an adjustment period, itās much easier. I donāt think I realized how hostile and toxic a lot of online spaces really are.

It helps to think that if someone is a complete jerk to you when they respond to your comment, theyāre a jerk so you donāt have to care what their opinion is. I know itās easier to say than do, but my general feeling is that if I donāt respect someone, I donāt really care what their opinion of me is. In fact, Iād be more bothered if they agreed with what I said.
