I have no idea what it’s asking. Think I’ll pass on whatever this is.

The application page is admittedly confusing, particularly the proofs section.

We’re only asking link to your profile on another tracker and a screenshot as proof, and your application will simply be accepted or denied. If you don’t have proof, you can create an image saying “I am a new user looking to learn” and give a clear reason why you’d like to join.

The proof is a screenshot from another tracker (if you use one). Please include a link to your profile so we can verify it.
If you’re new, you might only have one tracker — and that’s fine. If not, just link your profile here. What you write about why you’d like to join is also important.
Thank you — it’s not meant to confuse you.

Ah, I see we have different ideas of the definition of “new”

I understand the desire to vet people, but I feel like this all greatly reduces a person’s anonymity. Asking for an email, 2 different other profiles, plus hosted screenshots which may accidentally contain metadata.
Additionally, there are questions of how secure is this form? What security measures are being taken with this data at rest? So on.
Idk, this seems a bit much. Most open registrations just ask for an email, which can be a burner.

Unfortunately, it has become standard practice for trackers to take applications seriously. We’re not asking for your email — only a link to your profile on another tracker and a screenshot as proof. There’s no security risk, and your application will simply be accepted or denied. If you don’t have proof, you can create an image saying “I am a new user looking to learn” and give a clear reason why you’d like to join.
If open signups were possible, we’d gladly offer them — and in fact, we’ve had them several times over the past two years. But now we need to be more careful, since we’ve had issues with problematic users signing up, including account sellers. Sorry for any inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding.

The fact that “new to the game” is an option and they still ask two proofs made me LOL
