  I think this is called “stripping” laundry - has to be done once in a while to remove soap residue. Extends the life of the garments/linens and does not harm them.

    I’ve washed it (mumble) times with gentle soap and vinegar

    I’m not sure if it’s caused wear yet as ironically these are delicate
