Tge thing is, up until that point Myst had been a totally safe place. You walked around knowing that although you might have made a mistake, it could be undone. You just needed to find the right solution. It was warm and comfortable. Even when he ran up the path, we just figured it was the next part of the plot. It was super unsettling to be MURDERED and find out you COULD actually LOSE. With the dude running straight at you like in a nightmare. It really, really doesn’t help that it is Brad Dourif murdering you.
