Comment on How did easy access to Porn while growing up impacted Gen-Z ?
Randomgal@lemmy.ca 1 day agoYes. A child acting sexually is a red flag, kind a weird that a health professional didn’t pick it up and just assumed a whole generation …
Wait, was the story fake? Kmao

I never said that the health professionals didn’t consider the possibility that these children were themselves sexually abused. Of course they did. I never said that the health professionals asked only about porn consumption but not about past sexual abuse. They make both inquiries. I wasn’t even necessarily making a causal argument, only pointing out the strong correlation. I can’t tell you, because I don’t know, how many of the children who consume pornography have also been sexually abused. I don’t have access to that information, I don’t work there. All I do know is that significant porn consumption (including kids being caught watching porn in school) is very common among these kids.
It’s not fake, I’m telling you what I know, you can choose to believe it or not, I don’t give a shit.

My son (12) had no idea about porn until a student snuck a phone into school last year and showed my son and some other boys the deal.
Since, I cannot leave the tv remote, or any device with Internet unlocked around him. He will immediately use it for this impulsively, without even thinking. He has impulse control issues, adhd and whatnot.
They find it everywhere, spotify, the Nintendo switch, even my fucking phone…
Children should not have the Internet in their pocket. Im really concerned it may distort his reality of sexual relationships, perhaps turn into addiction and it’s difficult to have discussions about because he shuts down even when I try my best to be delicate. Yet, I ask him, when will I be able to trust you with having the tv remote again? My son confidently tells me, not yet.
I cleaned his room one day not long ago, and found a crumpled up paper shoved behind his bed. I normally don’t, but I opened it before tossing it in the bin. It was a poorly drawn set of tits. This doesnt upset me, but him searching stuff online really does. There are so many extemes online, and Id never know what he’s seen, and he’s never going to ask for clarification.
I believe you. Many kids have unrestricted internet access, and many parents don’t pay attention. Just look a rolblox for fucks sake.
