Size gives you options. How many expansion cards. How many nvme or ssd's do you want to connect. How many USB ports.
I think micro atx is a good compromise on size. Not huge, and not tiny.
Packing powerful components in a tiny case is just asking for them to get thermally throttled and avoid you getting most out of your purchase.
