BootLoop@sh.itjust.works 7 hours agoIn Ontario. It was my first car, so 10 years ago, so not quite the same market as today. It was a '96 Tercel. No AC option, no airbags, no ABS, no cruise control, crank windows, manual locks, manual transmission. Needed brake lines and a windshield.

So it was already like 19 years old when you got it, makes sense that it was pretty low cost.

Yep. Don’t need all the bells and whistles. On top of that it was incredibly reliable and fuel efficient since there wasn’t much to it.
