i think the red hat is carrying the assumption that they also want to bomb children, mainly because republicans claim that as a feature of their rule. this cartoon wants to emphasize their stupidity as the focal point.

MBech@feddit.dk 2 days agoAnd that is completely understandable, but this post seems to insinuate that the republicans don’t want to bomb the middle east, when in reality, the republicans also absolutely want to bomb the middle east, while ALSO wanting to implement a fascist dictatorship in the USA.
Republicans are currently funding Israel. Republicans are currently aiding a genocide. Republicans are currently killing democracy in USA. Republicans are currently threatening their allies with war.
Only focusing on how horrible the democrats are (and I agree they are), takes the spotlight away from the much much worse shit the republicans are currently doing, in addition to doing exactly what the democrats are doing.

They want to bomb the middle east, but harder.
It’s not even that they’re “the same”, it’s that they have similar approaches, but one is much worse.
Everyone lolmemes about republicans dropping bombs and Democrats dropping bombs with rainbow flags like it’s some deep insight, but all this does is massively benefit the right.
It sews disengagement from the left and people “protest vote”, then the people that do the thing they’re protesting against worse than get into power.
Unfortunately in a two party system, such as the US, it’s better to vote for the less bad one than neither, even if the one you vote for doesn’t do everything you’d like them to
