Technically we are in a rainy season, but its not a real rainy season, just a few months of showers for like 15-30 minutes, then sunny again, every other day. Similar to Florida weather.
Those downpours can be pretty severe though, when it starts bad, you pull over and put on rain gear immediately because its about to get much worse. Sometimes it feels like you’re riding through soda, water hitting every inch of your body at all times, plus an inch of runoff on the road.
I’ve mostly lived in temperate climates, but I’ve visited places with rainy seasons like that.
I always thought it was a season where it rained a lot with constantly overcast skies and a lot of drizzle, like Portland / Seattle / Vancouver in the winter. But, sometimes it’s the season where you know it’s probably not going to rain at all during the day except at 5pm you can expect a huge downpour, then it goes back to normal.
