Comment on UK government wins appeal over ruling that would have blocked asylum-seekers staying in hotel

You’ve missed the point. The most important point is that the government quite clearly stated that illegal migrants are more important to the ruling classes than the British people who fund them (both). The Tories are just as guilty as Labour.
The rest of it - the good or evil of your political position - is bullshit. Irrelevant.

Seems like you’re confusing asylum seekers with illegal migrants.

Technically, aren’t they kind of both? Given that the UK government have removed all legal avenues for those seeking asylum to get into the UK.
Maybe not all of them, though. Maybe some asylum claims have been going so long (because the government isn’t funding a civil service to process them and is funding hotel owners instead) that they arrived here through a now closed legal channel. Similarly, not all illegal migrants apply for asylum, or even commit the crimes that the Daily Mail harps on about.

No. The refugee convention states that it is not illegal to come here by any means necessary. If the UK is not happy with it, they can resign from the convention. Until then, the UK needs to follow the law.
