in more than one instance I’ve encountered people very not normal about their hobby and I choose not to associate with them. 🤷🏾‍♂️

To be fair, there are people like this, probably also on these forums, about almost every hobby. Gun nuts, programmers, “sweaty” card/board/video gamers, etc.
