LowExperience2368@aussie.zone āØ17ā© āØhoursā© agoThanks for this, CEO! Iām going to take him outside even more so the association is stronger.
He has a doggy door. We also take him outside before we go to bed and when we wake up. I take him outside every couple of hours during the day too when Iām home. He pees pretty much straight away. The issue is at night when he wakes up and no one is watching him. Or when heās home alone.

He was waking you up to let you know he needed a piss. For some reason heās not using the doggy door on his own at night.
It might be that he doesnāt associate night time with sleep. He might sleep more during the day and then be awake at night. Try and stimulate him more during the day.
Itās not usual for a dog to piss so much at night.

Itās strange because when weāre all in the house, he doesnāt usually bark in the middle of the night unless someone walks past with their dog or he sees a possum.
I will try to stimulate him more during the day. Maybe if he goes for an extra long walk, he will be exhausted. He generally does sleep at night unless heās left alone.

Buy a Kong and fill it with peanut butter and throw it outside. He needs to feel safer outside on his own.
Does one of your parents take him outside to piss in the middle of the night? Dogs form habits. Sometimes you have to break those habits quickly before they become problematic.

Iāll fill a Kong with peanut butter stat.
He normally goes out by himself at night through his door, unless my mum is not home. If he barks at me tonight, I will get up and take him outside.
Thanks for your advice!!
