I wholeheartedly agree.
When I was on a school placement, there was a lot of, “This is boring! Why do I even have to learn this?”
I think a lot of school is about learning how to learn and having to face boring things, because not every job is going to be smelling the roses everyday.
I have to say, the curriculum includes content on respectful relationships and social-emotional learning, which I’m a big fan of. Although I’ve yet to see anyone teaching this stuff.

I lived through school, hell I worked in the school I got schooled in, I still came out going “wtf are taxes and how do I responsibly spend money?” and do not get me wrong, I do not blame the education system for my lack of knowledge, but also… urg, I’m probably a few wines deep for this, but nothing in my education really prepared me for the real world, but after working in a school I do not at all blame any of my teachers for that. Why do I know more about the Medici Family than I do about budgeting? Why was I judged on a 90 min test with zero ability to reach for real world knowledge?

Oh oh oh I also need to say that I DO NOT blame teachers for what I came out of school knowing. They’ve been told some awful curriculum but people sooooo far out of the game
