Comment on UK unis sign up to £10M Oracle Java subscription framework
sanzky@beehaw.org 4 weeks agoI guess is people were using the oracle VM without license and were caught. Oracle makes it very easy to not notice that the Java distribution you download requires payment.

Yes that’s it, they offer it for download. People click " I agree" and install. Then it phones home and oracle knocks on your door with huge license fee and or lawsuit.
