I'm a former Liberal Party voter (think democrats in Canada), and both parties have the problem youve identified. The right screwed their heads back on after the pantsing after George W., It's time for the left to get pantsed so they can remember they work for the people.

As long as they think they can cheat in elections and win, they will not change. And I do not know if ordinary voters can beat the machines these days.

They said the same thing back in 2008 about the Republicans.
There are practical limits to cheating. Especially now.

Look at what happened in the Georgia and Colorado primaries. They have not hit those practical limits yet.
