tombruzzo@aussie.zone 1 week agoI don’t like it. They charge a monthly fee and a percentage of sales. They’re also trying to become like a platform for online shopping, like they’re trying to muscle in on becoming a monopoly.
And they seem pretty content with making it easy to start your own AI generated dropshipping store. They’re trying to sell the dream so they can collect that subscription money. Starting a store is only the first step, not the final destination.

Somewhat unrelated but etsy was killed by drop shippers. It used to be amazing for people to sell their wares but of course capitalism destroyed yet another unique endeavour.

It certainly has. They let themselves be ruined by the one thing that made the website unique, and they’ve been cracking down on creators as well, making it hard for people to sell more unique items
