The thing is that I needed to learn a language but that duolingo motivated me to learn a language in the first place. It sadly never made me dig much deeper. Nothing else I’ve tried ever stuck. So for me it’s not duolingo or learn a language seriously but duolingo or candy crush (never actually played that game but you get the point)

Dreaming_Novaling@lemmy.zip 1 week agoI’m gonna be real, Duolingo is literally only good for motivation and easy vocab review. It has been years since I used it, but the best advice I got on that website was when forums still existed and people told me that the translations for JP were shit and to learn somewhere else, which is probs why those forums got deleted.
If you have to use hacks to not be bored/deal with the bullshit, then just leave man. It’s not worth the bird begging you to come back. Find stuff online, YT (unfortunately) is your friend for resources.
