Nor have I mentioned “the past few centuries”…there’s no need.
Can you enlighten me as to what your objective is?

How is that different from me saying: “Other shit happened hundreds of years ago (and frankly isn’t unique to the US). Why can’t you talk about now?”
One more time for the backseats… saying the US had slavery and thus we reach the end of convo is intellectually lazy and ignoring the here and now.
