Comment on Government shutdown updates: Biden signs 45-day funding bill to keep government open

My viewpoint is that right now the United States federal government is headed towards total destruction. I started worrying about the US debt when it was about 8 trillion dollars. Over the course of an incredibly short period of time, that is ballooned to 32 trillion dollars.

This isn't sustainable. The United States is already past a point that most economists agree is a point of no return. Passing 100% of GDP in debt is a certified bad thing.

So what's going to eventually happen is all the money coming in from taxes is just going to go to Banks. Interest rates have only risen a little bit, and I believe interest payments this year are going to be greater than the cost of the entire military. It's on track to get even worse.

At the rate the US is going, everything's going to get shut down. All of your friends will either be unemployed or getting paid in valueless money that can't be used to buy anything. Meanwhile taxes will have to continue to increase to pay bankers in New York and Beijing.

Stuff like social security and Medicare are going to just go away because there just won't be any money for it.

I would not be surprised to see a massive sovereign debt crisis in the next 5 years. Then we're going to get to see just how ugly things can get. It'll be a lot uglier than a government shutdown that takes place for a few weeks or a few months.
