  What’s in it for me, personally? These countries do not directly benefit Trimp, plus one of the many things he campaigned on was isolationism. Apparentlys people fell for that

      Maybe I assumed too much context ….

      It’s one of two three things:

      • Bully mentality. “Beating people up means I’m strong.”

      • Kompromat. “Putin said I have to beat people up or he will ruin me, and I know what he has on me.”

      • narcissism /instant gratification. If it doesn’t directly benefit me, now, then I don’t care

        Oh. I mean that’s definitely a Trump Trait but I don’t think it’s relevant to a conversation about why he’s attacking his allies.
