itstoowet@lemmy.world 3 days agoYour best bet is to go through companies that are interesting relevant and find someone who is a hiring manager or has something in common with you. Once you find them, send them a nice LinkedIn message explaining how much you love the company/product/culture and if they are interested in having a coffee chat.
Basically, you gotta get past the gate keepers (recruiters) and you’ll find things open up. Most recruiters are fucking shit (especially at mega corps) and are just looking to check boxes. Go around them.

I wouldn’t even know how to find such people, unfortunately. Most hiring managers know nothing at all about media production. Some of the job ads are hilarious. The ones that expect me to edit with Capcut and do graphics with Canva are the worst. I apply for them anyway, but these people have no idea.
