If you have enough RAM 16Gb+. I would only use it for boot disks. Also you can boot from a raidz as well if you have the extra drives.

It’ll be the moment my replacement drive arrives… I managed to image something from the dying old boot drive… But I’m honestly expecting to have to reinstall… Which is hella annoying but it’s what I get for not imaging sooner.

If you’re already reinstalling BTRFS will snapshot your partitions. I usually backup the root partition to my backup server as a script. It’s a thought.
