- Comment on It has nothing to do with your right to work 3 weeks ago:
Never got why small government guys would support it where I lived. It’s just the government stepping in to limit the union on behalf of big corporations

Any good ghost application software out there?
- Comment on The trick to Dragon Age's lore is that the lore is lying, says original "uber-plot" writer David Gaider 1 month ago:
I honestly do love the aspect of it.
- Comment on ‘Who dreams this crap up?’: Kevin O'Leary slams new rule that allows employees to ignore their bosses after hours 3 months ago:
“What crazy world do we live in where I can’t eat at closed restaurants or live in houses I don’t own or pay for? What’s next electricians only fix my breakerbox when I pay them? What is this world coming too!?”
Honestly, I don’t get this.
- Comment on Valve bans Razer and Wooting’s new keyboard features in Counter-Strike 2 3 months ago:
Games are defined by the limitation imposed by them.
You might arguably do all that if you are competing at extremely high skill levels tbh.
- Comment on As Trump and Harris call to end tip taxes, a wider minimum wage war heats up 4 months ago:
Can’t wait to see more jobs become tip based /s Nurses based on tips, doctors, ems, firefighters? Why not?
Its the most economical decision for them on their taxes…

- Comment on The food delivery bubble is bursting — and maybe that's not a bad thing 4 months ago:
Honestly that seems like a huge factor to me. The more car dependent places I’ve lived the less delivery was a thing.
- Comment on A million more U.S. workers can now get overtime pay: 'Most employers absolutely do want to get this right' 5 months ago:
Your not a technician, you’re an “engineer”. Ignore the fact you will make zero engineering decisions on this.

I mean some of the fediverse devs work at Meta so surely right?
These aren’t totally cut and dry because of the open nature of the software and network.
You can have Marxist Leninist build an app with support for donations and have someone turn around and interoperate with Meta using the protocol whos standard is hosted by a industry non profit.
Life’s weird living in the free world shrug
- Comment on The Outer Worlds and Thief are free from Epic next week 8 months ago:
I use a FOSS app and the website from a Linux desktop. What I am saying is the incentives for the Lemmy devs to work on Lemmy are ideological and funded by donations. The fact that companies can extend it isn’t relevant to the intention of design of Lemmy.
- Comment on The Outer Worlds and Thief are free from Epic next week 8 months ago:
Lemmy’s not a company shrug
- Comment on Emad Mostaque steps down as CEO and from the Board of Directors to pursue decentralized AI 8 months ago:
Same here. I really liked his conc3pt of these being digital public goods and the reality that open source/models make finetuning on private data possible for many when it otherwise wouldn’t be the case.
Honestly seeing him double down on decentralized AI gives me hope too. People like the hivemind and pedals.Dev folks have been doing incredible stuff in that space but there has little in terms of adoption despite the fact it addressed a major hurdel in overall adoption (needing massive GPUs to run models).
- Comment on Hasbro exec says Baldur's Gate 3 "proved for us that people really wanted great D&D games," supports Larian's plan to "take the time we need" 8 months ago:
I hope laurin switches to Pazio material or some other lore source tbh. I mean they (hazboro) fired all of they’re working partners from their side and are clearly bad fucking stewards of the IP.

Lmao I honestly so hard at this, but honestly they were probably thinking “what’s the lowest fucking bar we have here?” And instead this success told them that a little more investment might actually have better returns
