Anyone feeling this way was traumatized by the crap the Democrats and Fauci did in 2020 and 2021. “Rules for thee, but not for me.”
This is why half the country votes Republican, and I can see where they are coming from. Anyone who experiences this “pandemic skip” and still thinks their politicians handled it correctly has Stockholm syndrome.

We need election reform. But before anything can be done, people need to get out of their echo chambers and stop denying that “both sides” people exist. Stop taking for granted that everything your chosen team does is 100% right. Start looking at your own side critically. As it is now, the majority of the population is convinced that the other half of the population is a bunch of fascist bootlickers and refuses to listen to anything they have to say, and they take for granted that their side is the only correct choice. Most people are actually pretty purple but won’t admit it.

And keep in mind that as long as everybody thinks that way, nothing will ever get fixed in this country. Both Team Red and Team Blue know what’s up. They know people will defend their side and demonize the other, while they’re all taking care of the billionaires and laughing all the way to the bank.
The lesser of two evils is still evil.

Oh absolutely. Instead of fighting the establishment, political discourse has devolved into “Oh you don’t like Person A? Then you must be a FASCIST who is licking Person B’s boots!”

And to think we could have had this guy instead of the narcissist and lost Roomba that won the last two elections…

Yup, I’ve seriously gotten into arguments with people who insist on tipping the doctor.

You’ve never gotten into an argument with someone who says they tip their mechanic and doctor and thinks everybody should do the same?
There absolutely are people in the US who believe that everybody you interact with as a customer should be tipped because they believe all the propaganda from the likes of Readers Digest and Wall Street Journal. They believe everybody must be tipped because covid and “How are those jobs any different from being a server? It’s a SERVICE!” It’s beyond ridiculous. I worked in retail and food service (not tipped) for a long time and would have been embarrassed to have to resort to begging for tips.
Tip culture worship is real. I’ve run into plenty of people online and offline who think that tips should be mandatory everywhere, of all walks of life.

If you can’t find the option to block in your preferred app, you can always go to the instance in a browser and block the user in your settings.

I didn’t get it until I found the artists on Twitter. Unfortunately, they’re now scattering all over the place with Elon’s bullshit.
I have one artist friend on Mastodon, Arsbin@mastodon.art, but so far she’s the only one.
I never cared much for the political or celebrity bullshit on Twitter.

Ever since covid hit, so many restaurants by me are only open until 2 or 3 in the afternoon, and a lot of their owners have been resorting to whining on Facebook that they’re not getting customers anymore. Most of these places used to be open 24 hours or close late.
Almost nobody wants Mexican food or a steak dinner at 7 in the morning. Businesses need to be there for their customers. You can’t just be open at 6 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon just because that’s when you want to work if you’re in that business.
