- Comment on Assuming humanity last another few hundred years; How many human languages do you think are gonna be left in 100 years? In 200 years? 20 hours ago:
100 years: same amount as today minus a couple of dozen where no children currently speak them. Some people born today will be alive in 2125. (And I’m envious Idon’t get to see the future)
200 years? There is conscious effort to preserve minority languages , so hopefully the extinction slows down.

Can be: yes. Likely: No.
It reads like it was meant to confuse you, not to get any point across.

First step should probably be looking for an asexual guy.
I don’t think a high or even average sex drive guy in his 20-30 would be very happy. But there are low drive guys too, and if you keep looking you’re doomed to succeed.

My guess? Piss off Europe so that they take charge instead of deferring to the US.
This would free up US resources to pivot to the indo Pacific region and countering China.

- Comment on Take the plea deal 1 week ago:
Plea deals are made beforehand, so you’d negotiate that with Trump admin. Pardons may be given after, but the likely candidates in the line of succession are appointed by the Trump admin, or in the case of an (extra) election you have no clue who it will be.
The better idea is to probably to suck up to Trump even more and hope he or one of his successors pardon you.
Or just flee to a country that does not extradite to the US.
- Comment on Would increasing populations of ectothermic animals help climate change much more than increasing wildlife generally? 1 week ago:
Any source of heat that is not the sun is insignificant. Any sink of heat that is not radiating into space is insignificant.
The energy they use to create movement yes, but that movement turns into sound and heat and the sound eventually turns into heat.

What’s the ruling on paying someone to fix a door hinge? Knowing my luck it’s when the bathroom and front door comes off.
- Comment on How has there not yet been a leak of the Epstein files? Surely there is someone with access to them that could have been subject to worldwide pressure to let something out. 1 week ago:
But if you miss one you go to jail. For what it’s worth you don’t even have to watermark them as long as you make them belive you have for it to work well enough.
- Comment on How has there not yet been a leak of the Epstein files? Surely there is someone with access to them that could have been subject to worldwide pressure to let something out. 1 week ago:
I did not even think of putting a watermark in meta data. There are a lot of other ways to watermark documents if you care about who leaks it.
- Comment on "Does Hitler have a right to privacy?" and other big questions in research ethics. 1 week ago:
What is the scientific value of it and why can’t those values be realised in a way that does not even raise ethical concerns?
The best argument for it was that eventually someone would do it and they may just as well do it rigorously.
- Comment on How has there not yet been a leak of the Epstein files? Surely there is someone with access to them that could have been subject to worldwide pressure to let something out. 1 week ago:
Turns out it’s generally hard to hack something but occasionally there is a mistake allowing someone else in. Just don’t count on it.
Assume the files have been marked and that they would know it’s you who leaked it. You’d probably get prosecuted at the very least and if there is a vote to release the files you’ll go to prison for nothing.
- Comment on How do you beat post-work floppiness? 2 weeks ago:
As soon as I get home: I do not sit down. If I do I’ll lose all motivation to get up. Go to the gym, do meal prep etc before I’m even close to my chair.

I don’t know the context but he could be calling out hypocrisy of some event that prides itself on DEI not having any white representation out of a hundred.
Some (i assume American) would have to explain the context to me if that is not the case.
- Comment on Are physical mail generally not under surveillance? If everyone suddently ditched electronic communications and start writing letters, would governments be able to practically surveil everyone? 2 weeks ago:
It’s not practical but it’s easy to target a few interesting individuals.
Also it’s inconvenient to encrypt and decrypt physical mail.
- Comment on [deleted] 2 weeks ago:
Well 60 hours work week is tough and having children to take care of is going to be even harder. You’ll manage a while but not forever.
Find another job that lets you get away with 40 hours would be my first suggestion. Moving somewhere where pay to living cost ratio is better would also be an option.
