- Comment on Employees Who Stay In Companies Longer Than Two Years Get Paid 50% Less 3 weeks ago:
Every single time I see this type of conversation come up it’s always about the more privileged higher paying white collar work.
this is true and i know i because i’m one of those workers while my siblings aren’t and only my pay increases significantly each time while theirs remain stagnant.
on the other hand recruiters hate “job hoppers” and you’ll end up with more gate keepers to jobs the more often you do it.
- Comment on Employees Who Stay In Companies Longer Than Two Years Get Paid 50% Less 3 weeks ago:
my work experience is almost entirely 2 & 3 year tenures and (anecdotally) companies are making vesting a bigger part of the compensation package and getting rid of pto to counteract people’s attempts at improving their livelihoods.
if you see a vesting heavy or “unlimited pto” compensation packages on offer; they don’t expect to keep you for very long.
- Comment on Employees Who Stay In Companies Longer Than Two Years Get Paid 50% Less 3 weeks ago:
moving every 2 years or so is clearly the best strategy for career advancement.
it’s a double edged sword in my experience from to talking to recruiters who seem to have an irrational hatred of “job hoppers” and they’re, anecdotally, a majority.
however it is still true that you’ll get higher pay as i did; but be sure to spend a LOT of time keeping your connections alive because most recruiters (still anecdotally) will red flag 2 & 3 year tenure-ships; effectively gate keeping you away from many jobs.

that’s why it makes more sense to have them be naked to begin with ;)
- Comment on Yup 3 weeks ago:
There doesn’t even need to be penetration involved and it can still be a good time.
that’s true; but the pic implies a “gangbang” which is usually penetrative.
- Comment on Yup 3 weeks ago:
i forgot strapons existed and i think that would enable a greater variety of double/triple/whatever penetration videos than gay porn currently does.
based on the strapon usage i’ve seen: i suspect people who use strapons derive more psychological pleasure than physical pleasure and if that would have an impact on the quality of the porn.
- Comment on Yup 3 weeks ago:
yes please! lol
but i wonder how this would work with men and women; do they take turns with the man? if so how is it different than 1-on-1 porn?
- Comment on Overthrow a Government and Install a Puppet Dictator? The CIA will do it for Bananas! 5 weeks ago:
That’s the best thing about the stuff that the CIA has done: they publicly admit to it in writing and people still refuse to believe it’s true
- Comment on What kind of institutional gaslighting is this? 1 month ago:
As organized labor gains more steam
is there a stat somewhere that agrees with this? please say yes and share a link; i would like to believe this is true, but i suspect that a union’s biggest hurdle is still convincing white people that non-white people need to be in their union.
- Comment on When you donate, do you ever think of the person that gets your blood and how high their hospital bill will be? 2 months ago:
I don’t know about Canada; but over here you only get those questions if they deem you a high risk group and; depending on your responses; if they think you’re gay and had sex in the last year, you’re not allowed to donate.
It sounds like Canada is only okay w gays donating blood if they’re in a couple, which; I’m willing to bet; is as a depressingly tiny minority of gay men like it is in the United States.
- Comment on When you donate, do you ever think of the person that gets your blood and how high their hospital bill will be? 2 months ago:
no because i’m not allowed to donate blood as a gay man with a (barely) active sex life
- Comment on Is there a more politically and ideologically diverse alternative for Lemmy? 2 months ago:
the closest thing to actionable items is to identify with op’s experience and wish them good luck
- Comment on Is there a more politically and ideologically diverse alternative for Lemmy? 2 months ago:
there’s a couples sites out there that will show you which instances are federating with each other and you can see a trend of lemmy instances effectively creating echo chambers with moderate viewpoint dominated instances driving nearly all of it.
if this trend continues, the fediverse will eventually go the same way that the other reddit diasporas went so i’m also looking for a new place; good luck fellow wanderer
- Comment on unsure why we are surprised lol 2 months ago:
the paradox of tolerance applies to the intolerance. all leftists are tolerant people; the strawman that we use to describe a tankie is not a leftist.
- Comment on unsure why we are surprised lol 2 months ago:
the fediverse is turning into a collection of leftist echo chambers due to this and now i’m wondering if it’s worth it to back to that reddit shithole.
martin luther king was right: moderates fuck everything up more than anyone else

- Comment on What is the worst US state to live in generally? 10 months ago:
i just left austin because it’s becoming an increasingly facist shithole because anyone with above room temperature iq in austin knows that the state will continue to do everything in its power to reign in austin so they leave; like i did.
the only gem in that place is houston and that is a much bigger target in the texas government’s eyes than austin ever was.
there are holdouts and they will continue to hold out; ineffectually and pointlessly struggling for the rest of their lives.
- Comment on What is the worst US state to live in generally? 10 months ago:
add arizona to that list
- Comment on Is there a more politically conservative part of the fediverse? 10 months ago:
The Fediverse is undeniably very left leaning currently, which is surprising to me since you’d think the anti-censorship design on paper would appeal more to people on the right who are against big tech and censorship, but I guess not? It’s interesting.
american conservatives care more about denying rights and liberties than anything else as evidenced by their leaders and publicly shared platforms; so if you believe that censorship has anything to do w it, you’re not a conservative.
- Comment on Would it make sense for a person in a "privileged class" to move from a red state? 10 months ago:
yes, it’s the definition of privilege since most don’t have that privilege and i’ve recently become a member to that privileged class (for now atleast); which is how i can recognize it.
i also do software and i was in austin and left a couple of weeks ago because i’m not cishet nor white but still experienced enough bigotry (especially from gay texans) that it was impacting my psyche, so i had to leave and i feel sorry for whomever is like me but is stuck there because of something as silly as not having the opportunity to do software.
- Comment on Would you work for a corporation that you oppose ideologically, if the pay is good? 10 months ago:
i act my wage and i double or triple it when i work somewhere i don’t like.
