Well if you want to go full on seed-maxing, you would get a seedbox, you would focus on most anticipated releases (popular TV shows, Movies…), you would use automation tool like autobrr to automatically grab the torrents as soon as possible, so you can start seeding as soon as possible. You would get on multiple private trackers and cross seed (download identical release from one tracker so you can seed it on another one, or multiple other ones), and you would do this because one tracker might have freeleech for a specific torrent while others don’t, or stuff get released on one quicker than the others, etc.
If you don’t want to mess with those tools, nor you have a seedbox, you would just grab freeleech torrents (TL has a lot of freeleech), you would seed them as long as possible, I only remove torrents when I need extra space, so they usually get seeded for months. And besides the upload credit you get by seeding/uploading to other peers/leechers, you also get TL points which you can exchange for more upload credit. You would take the advantage of their achievement system, they give TL points for doing tasks (like visiting the site every day for a month, downloading 10,20 movies…)
And one small extra way to get some more TL points is to wait for the new years event, where they give random amount of TL points/ VIP for few days/invites for a month if you visit the site each day and grab the gift.If you don’t care about any of that, just make sure that you grab freeleech most of the time and seed as long as you can, that should be more than enough to keep your ratio above 1

- Comment on How do you search Lemmy? 2 years ago:
There is no good way really.
Lemmy’s search is pretty lackluster. You will have a hard time finding what you are looking for, unless you are searching for something verbatim, and if your query contains common words…Good luck. It also has no search operators. When it comes to search engines, only google is somewhat usable (from my experience), but it’s very much hit or miss. Sometimes you will be able to find the post, just by typing
lemmy [post title or part of it], but it will almost never be in the top results.
And most of the time , first result is Reddit…
You can try using fedi-search.com
It basically just uses this query for “more accurate search”
[search query] (intext:“modlog” & “instances” & “docs” & “code” & “join-lemmy”)And this one for normal search
[search query] (site:lemmy.world OR site:lemmy.ml OR site:lemm.ee OR site:hexbear.net OR site:sh.itjust.works OR site:lemmy.dbzer0.com OR site:feddit.de OR site:kbin.social OR site:mastodon.social OR site:mastodon.cloud OR site:mstdn.social OR site:mastodon.online OR site:mastodon.world OR site:libre.video OR site:video.antopie.org)Which is not just for lemmy, as you can see
Here is the search query I made for the top 35 lemmy instances (by active users) based on this: lemmy.fediverse.observer/list
[your search query] (site:lemmy.world OR site:lemm.ee OR site:sh.itjust.works OR site:lemmy.ml OR site:hexbear.net OR site:lemmy.ca OR site:programming.dev OR site:lemmy.dbzer0.com OR site:feddit.org OR site:lemmy.blahaj.zone OR site:discuss.tchncs.de OR site:lemmygrad.ml OR site:sopuli.xyz OR site:lemmy.sdf.org OR site:lemmy.zip OR site:beehaw.org OR site:infosec.pub OR site:aussie.zone OR site:feddit.nl OR site:midwest.social OR site:feddit.uk OR site:slrpnk.net OR site:reddthat.com OR site:lemmy.one OR site:jlai.lu OR site:pawb.social OR site:lemmy.kya.moe OR site:lemmy.today OR site:startrek.website OR site:feddit.it OR site:mander.xyz OR site:ttrpg.network OR site:lemmings.world OR site:ani.social OR site:feddit.org)
In SearXNG u can use
!lepoto search lemmy posts but it’s basically just lemmy’s search. - Comment on Game Recording Steam Beta 2 years ago:
Fair enough. It’s nice to have something that just works out of the box and doesn’t need much configuration, for sure.
And even though most points you have mentioned are actually doable in OBS, they need additional setup/configuration or a plugin. But I personally don’t mind that, and in most cases I prefer that, especially granular configuration of video settings. - Comment on Game Recording Steam Beta 2 years ago:
Why do you find OBS to be suboptimal? I never used OBS on Linux, is it not working well there?

Yeah, I just tested it in Jerboa…I guess in some apps it just doesn’t work, probably depending on how the text box is implemented in the app or something, I’m not sure.
I didn’t have trouble with it so far because it has been working for all the apps that I use.federation on my lemmy instance is broken, so this message will probably arrive very late

You can enable spell check underline even for keyboards that don’t have it, by changing which app it uses for spell checker specifically. In my case it’s under Android settings >> System >> Languages & input >> Spell checker (under the Tools category), It might be different on your phone, in that case I guess you can just search for “Spell checker” and then u can use Gboard for spell checking for example.
