People who are drawn to positions like these are often conservative (I’m not saying facist), so it makes a lot of sense to me. In real life you can see that with the police and other security-centered jobs for example. And it makes a lot of sense, since these positions are about keeping things „in order“ which is a very fundamental conservative value if you think about it. So rather strict, inflexible security chiefs are very believable to me.

Yeah, sadly that’s my impression as well. I really like his acting style and remember his especially for this scene. But it’s not easy to separate the artist from his art.
