However, to be fair, there is a difference between going to a convention you are interested in and working a convention.

I enjoy these, thank you wise one.
I would add that a snippet of the original series theme is heard at one point at the end of one of the songs, and I don’t remember hearing it any other SNW episode. I didn’t draw any connections to it at the time but now I wonder if it was drawing a line between the characters on screen at the time. Will have to go rewatch.

We felt like this was painful and nearly unwatchable. Individual performance aside…please no moreQ

There were some excellent bits, but I wish it didn’t take up one of the ten-episode slots. They did loop in Kirk’s kid, so that was an excellent plot beat, as was the TOS soundtrack. I didn’t have a problem with the concept (“Wha if…”); Spock / Chapel / Pike / M’Benga had great tunes and didn’t mind Ortegas and Klingons doing Tope 40 boy-band is 20 yrs of meme material. The finale was uneven.

This one was pretty cringy. It would be passable if we got an extra episode to make it up for it.

Did we see anything that suggested he hadn’t let go?

Could be foreshadowing!!! I am not tracking the significance of the busted sick bay but I’m sure there is something there!

I agree with you. However I see the Klingon as the ray of hope in this story.
Even if the Klingon’s diplomat status was built on a lie, unless something else reveals new information, the Klingon was dealing with his role in his past war crimes in a positive fashion.
This episode has highlighted how shady Benga has been for quite a well, from his daughter on in. Nurse Chapel walks the gray line as well. I do like him as a character and the idea of a murderous CMO is hmmm some good stuff.
I liked the look Spock shot Chapel when she said “you feel like” and he was like … umm … surely you jest…and let it go. Very cool! And great Vulcan logic in this ep.

Honestly Una should have clued Pike in, not to mention starfleet being all “eat a bag of dicks” knowing full well who was on the enterprise…so who in command has it out for Pike?

Holy moly. This ep could be a turning point for more than a few characters.
I liked that CMO Benga could not move past his hate, while the Klingon did.
The Klingon had let go of his history and chose life: the doctor, chartered with savings lives, clung to his past and chose to take a life. And on a starfleet vessel, and a diplomat at that! Very interesting.
War does change people, however those changed people can change again.
We did not get that line of hope here. Here, we got that death breeds pain which fosters more death.
What we witnessed were two warriors colliding on their redemption arc, with one (Klingon) further along than the other (benga). A dark passenger rides with the CMO…and that’s not great (for him, great for us in the audience).
The episode could be a turning point for CMO Benga and Capt Pike. Ultimately, he is responsible for the death of a Klingon ambassador on his ship.
MMM MMM, SAVORY STUFF!!! MORE!

I get that. So…while you do you, a friend encouraged me to watch SNW, and I am glad I did. It is more episodic vs. a “Tune In Next Season!” cliffhanger that sucks when the show isn’t picked up again.
SNW is currently produced, genuinely worth watching (IMO), has a weekly release, and I don’t think there is any danger of a mid-season arc cancellation; it’s also fun to join a topical convo on “New Trek” as it happens. Once the season is done, it’s now Old Trek :)
You can binge and get caught up quickly. Sadly, seasons no longer have 20+ episodes, but I suppose that is what it is.
