Stay tuned for names.sr.ht, they will charge 20$ a year to allow you to register unlimited domains with zero markup, and profit sustainably without data collection from that tiny subscription fee (plus tons of DevOps).

I have experience with all 3 of the above companies and can recommend each as reputable.
Njalla - This is a service which owns a domain legally for you. This means that you are putting trust in them that cannot be reversed.
Banhof - One of the few ISPs in the world to consistently stand up for privacy.
1984hosting - Support the right to be forgotten
Ultimately all modern webhosts offer whois privacy, but look for companies with strong data compliance policies.
