Shame I can’t legally sell my home made mead, so much licensing in the way its not worth bothering. Plus I am pretty sure this £3k wouldn’t exempt all the other various taxes on it.

Where else do you suggest, without building concentration camps?

At least Lemmy seems to be more sane about it. Reddit was full of “but cost of living!”. Then again that was their same complaint about raising the minimum wage, don’t do that because cost of living.

Well someone needed it explaining.

It will help if you use very little and cost more if you use lots.

Huh, I just use dirt.

I didn’t distribute them, someone must have been confused and took them. The left tub is pruning waste, the right one is the one with the free cuttings and bulbs sign.

We call those allotments in the UK.

I saw a plant with a label on it saying not to propagate. Now I have about 10 of them.
- Comment on The climate crisis will destroy our economies – we learned this 20 years ago. When will we act? | Fiona Harvey 1 day ago:
Not quite, we will make a few token efforts and everyone will blame someone else while most of them continue to fill up their car with petrol and run their gas boiler and insisting no its the petrol and gas company to blame.

I mean they could, but if they do I won’t be using their site.

Can’t you store stuff under your bed though? We have several boxes under ours.
- Comment on Budget 2026: John Healey offers £100 payments to households to help navigate ‘global economic storms’ 1 day ago:
Maybe a combination of getting used to not spending money and things being increasingly shit, but I don’t know what I would want to bother spending this on.
Even when I was earning £600 a month on apprentice wages in the late 2010s I don’t think this would have meaningfully changed my life.
- Comment on I'm not changing the sheets, I don't care. 2 days ago:
Bought my house a few years ago, would love to see prices drop. Ideally gradually rather than a sudden crash though. Like if they just stagnate in absolute value and inflation eats away at the labour required to pay for them, that would be great.

Hotel in town where I live for £24/night with breakfast included. Mostly that cheap because who the fuck is coming here in October, its much more when various festivals are in the area.

I just use DDG image search. Started drawing a bit recently and use online images as a starting point sometimes.
Planning on carving a board game on a wooden board, same rules as the game of Ur but possibly going with a different theme for decorating the board. Anglo-Saxon runes, axes and round shields. Been drawing them on paper as a planning stage and to practice as I would draw the outline on wood before carving it.

Isn’t this advice basically the same has it has been for years if not decades? Have a few days of food and any medication. Torches, candles etc.
Annoyingly power banks are out of stock here because of this and I need a new one as my old one turned into a spicy pillow recently. Still got 1 left but its nice for us to have 1 each. Still, it lasted like 10 years so that isn’t too bad.
- Comment on John Healey to end standing charges on gas bills for 23m homes 2 days ago:
Maybe I am being overly cynical but this sounds like a handout to fossil fuel companies to keep people using gas longer. The standing charge was an extra reason to push me towards cutting off my gas supply entirely several years ago and going fully electric.
Crazy thing is despite all the propaganda against it, my heat pump works great in my house that is almost 100 years old. A kW of heat is a kW of heat regardless of where it comes from.

Any time you hear “common sense” used to describe a policy you need to question deeper what they mean by that.
Usually some excuse to deny the existence of people.
- Comment on Foreign Secretary Ed Milliband says the world cannot ignore the thing he's ignoring 2 days ago:
Well some sides want genocides and some sides want no genocides. So they will call some genocides a compromise.
