I’ll give the landscaper the benefit of a doubt and say the sprinkler was there first.
Electricians placed the box per the plan, which was drawn at the office, and no one noticed the sprinkler. It’s an easy fix, though.

Ah, yes. I remember y’all in the comments of the George Floyd protest live-streams.
Maybe some of them are enjoying it, but it’s not a daily occurrence outside of protests, and it the protest is legitimate. Their enjoyment is not the reason for wrecking shit.
- Comment on Paris, France 22 hours ago:
Anyone who remembers the George Floyd protests remembers that being the case then, too.
The NYPD funneled the peaceful protesters into one intersection and then attacked.

You can open top loaders while they’re running to add something you forgot. They’re simpler and so more reliable machines, also easier to repair.
But, if your cat likes the front loader, then you’re stuck with that.

- Comment on Have any of you experienced that "snake detection" instinct? Do you think it's real? 2 days ago:
Hmm. I’m not sure.
I was out for a walk, and just as I passed a lawn sprinkler, it turned on and hissed. I jumped thinking it was an animal behind me, and I might have thought, “snake!”. It wasn’t just a normal startle, it was an immediate, and strong fight or flight response. My heart rate shot up, I spun around and instantly focused on the source of the noise; 100% instinct.

In January 2013, an Australian teen measured a Subway footlong and found it came up short at only 11 inches. He posted a photo on Facebook, sparking an online frenzy. Lawsuits soon followed in the United States, with plaintiffs alleging that Subway was engaging in deceptive marketing practices by advertising its large sandwiches as “footlongs.”
Ultimately, the class action lawsuits against Subway over the length of its footlong sandwiches were either dismissed or settled out of court. In 2016, a settlement was reached in one of the main cases. As part of the agreement, Subway said it would implement certain measures to ensure its footlong sandwiches are at least 12 inches long.

If you’re going to the trouble of writing something, my assumption is that you want to communicate. We can only communicate clearly with each other, if we all agree on and use the same word spellings and grammar rules. Otherwise, why bother?
One of the more frustrating things I see daily is titles that don’t make it clear whether OP is asking a question, or about to present an explanation.
“Why my dogs throw up in the house” instead of “Why do my dogs throw up in the house*?*”

Context for those who don’t follow such trends:
PCP Overdose
The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) states that the effects of PCP are dependent on the dose taken:
Lower doses of PCP are the typical doses on the street, and they are usually between 1 mg and 6 mg. At these doses, the effects are similar to alcohol intoxication.
Moderate doses of PCP, between 6 mg and 10 mg, produce significant psychosis, hyperactivity, and issues with irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, muscle rigidity, and elevated temperature rates.
Very large doses exacerbate the above effects, and they are also likely to produce comatose states, catatonia, and seizures. Extremely large doses, above 200 mg, can be fatal.(Yes, I chose the word “trends” to be a bit ironic.)

At least in the U.S. UHT and ultra-pasteurized are not the same:
Ultra-Pasteurized Milk Ultra-pasteurized milk undergoes a more intense heat treatment, where it is heated to 138°C (280°F) for 2 seconds. This process extends the milk’s shelf life to 30–90 days under refrigeration. Ultra-pasteurized milk is packaged in paper or plastic, with the package being treated with hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) to ensure sterility and preserve freshness.
Heat Treatment: 138°C (280°F) for 2 seconds
Shelf Life: 30–90 days
Storage: Requires refrigeration
UHT Milk UHT milk is heated to 138°C (280°F) or higher for at least 2 seconds, making it nearly sterile. This high heat treatment not only kills bacteria but also allows the milk to remain shelf-stable for up to 6+ months without refrigeration, until it is opened. UHT milk is packaged in a hermetically sealed container that is sterilized, ensuring the milk remains fresh and safe to consume.
Heat Treatment: 138°C (280°F) or higher for 2+ seconds
Shelf Life: 6+ months (unopened, no refrigeration needed)
Storage: Shelf-stable, no refrigeration required

To me it seems, even if we were plopped down into the moment and everything is again exactly as it was, that from that instant forward things would change. Nothing would play out the same way, and the farther we moved along the timeline from that point, the more things would be different. Five years after you arrive, it’s a very different world from the one you knew before, or read about. It’s chaos theory.
So, the idea that one could shape the future, by stopping expected future events is silly, apart from the immediate future around the instant you appeared, but good luck remembering any of that, if you were even alive then before. Everything will spin off in different directions on a second pass, nothing will play out the same exact way.
The really big things like the climate issue and the eventual fall of USSR are still going to happen, but no one will listen to you, same as today. There might still be a big terrorist attack around 2001, but exactly what and where will be unknown to you, but more likely it will be years before or after, or not at all. Lottery numbers won’t be the same, there won’t be the same companies on the stock market. The knowledge about the future-past you experienced is useless.
The only thing that helps is your knowledge about life’s universal principals, and a better understanding what you do and don’t want for yourself. Your life will be different, because you’ll be able to make better choices, but everything else will be different too.

Not knowing the specifics of how this game works, but assuming I’m 17 again and everything is the same as it was, I go to my first GF’s house and… yeah.
Because that was one of the best years of my life. I hope the game is that I get to live my life over from that point, knowing everything I know now, because I would do a lot differently.

It will be 25 hours. You’ll get paid for 25 hours, and it will be 5 hours per day for five days. That’s a “3-day work week”.
But, since it’s part-time legally, no healthcare, and no paid time off, because you “only work a 3-day week.”
Fuck this billionaire, and all the rest. No one would miss them if they disappeared, and worse, they’re leeches on our society. We’d all be much better off without them.
Stop buying crap from Amazon, what the hell are you doing!?

They meet online with whatever boards they serve on--they all serve on each other’s boards, btw. That’s maybe eight hours a week. They make a few top level decisions, that’s an hour or two a week. And, they can do this from anywhere in the world. On one of their yachts, on one of their jets. From any of their mansions. Anywhere at all.
No, they don’t work like we work, not even close.

When you sell a house, it needs to be as generic as possible, to appeal to as many people as possible. The staging furniture is suppose to take up the style slack. Except we made all the furniture gray, too. And, cars, for some reason.
Fucking gray cars, WTH?
- Comment on I despise laundry. How can I make my life contain less of it? 1 week ago:
I wear the same clothes two days in a row, sometimes three. This alone cuts laundry in half, or by a third.
When I take off my clothes I don’t bunch them up or turn them inside-out, so they come out of the dryer ready to hang with minimal fuss.
All of my socks are the same, black Dickies, so I don’t need to match them.
I hang everything, because I hate folding. Also, when it’s folded, it’s stacked somewhere, and you need to dig through the stack to find anything. Socks and underwear go in a bin.
