Very true! :) if you have additional ways of showing that a mail server was operational in 2005 I’m happy to hear them :)

A claim is being made about the domain having been taken out of use by 2005, and being unable to receive emails at that time. There are strong circumstances pointing to this claim being an outright lie, not least the fact that the domain was available for scraping as of 2005. I think DNS records from the time period could contribute to shedding light on this :)

@slazer2au@lemmy.world there are at least some services providing historical DNS record lookups (dnshistory[.]org, completedns[.]com, etc), but none of the ones I’ve found go back to 2005. (Sorry for replying like this, for whatever reason your reply isn’t showing up on my instance.)
