I personally could not care less about a company’s growth, or redemption arc when it comes to how I feel about a game.
I would also tend to avoid games that are focused on being patriotic or nationalistic.
Is this game fun? That’s really my only criteria.

I worked at Electronics Boutique when it was released. We sold a hundreds of copies. We also had a LOT of people returning it the next day because it was the first time they had ever encountered a JRPG, or turn based combat.

Human beings make art. LLMs steal art to make images (not art). I’m never going to move from that.
You wanna use machine assisted tools to isolate a subject from a background in photoshop? Fine. You start using it to create assets and elements? Absolutely not.
I’m also not really into justifying it so that a few neat niche uses like the ones you listed might happen, when the overwhelming use of AI is the opposite of creative and exploratory.

Progression and tech trees are my favorite parts of rpg games. Good incremental games distill that part to a fine, highly concentrated progression liquor. I also prefer that they conclude in under a few hours. Fuck the endless ones.
