- Comment on New battery-powered trains will ‘bring faster journeys to north’ 1 day ago:
What’s the point in battery powered trains? They will be a lot heavier and more expensive (per train) than electric trains that are connected to the grid through over track cables, which we already have in a lot of places.
I get it’s likely faster to get going, since you don’t need as much infrastructure. But it really seems like a short term solution.

I don’t doubt that he is technically qualified to drive. He can do a 3 point turn and read a speed sign during any test. What I doubt is that he will follow the rules when not in the middle of the test.

Why does a 20 year old even own a car that can go that fast? Actually why can any car go that fast? You’re not allowed to go even close to that on most highways.
was banned from driving for 50 months
50 years would be too short. Someone like that shouldn’t be allowed behind a wheel ever again.
- Comment on Wildfire phone alert was 'entirely appropriate', government says 3 weeks ago:
Yeah I went in to my settings and considered disabling this. It happened twice, during a conference I was attending.
I didn’t turn it off, in the end, but if they keep doing this, a lot of people will, which is the worst thing possible when there’s an actual emergency.
