- Comment on European Commission preparing token gesture for angry gamers and game developers 2 hours ago:
I’m not sure if this is sarcasm or not… You are aware that, the EU has been famously known for applying huge penalty fines to big tech companies, including Google and Apple, and that even Valve, was targeted for an antitrust lawsuit, that lost?
Are you also aware that the EU forced Apple to standardized their power cables to use USB-C only, which caused Apple to lose a fair amount of money, because now they will profit less from selling licenses to cable manufacturers. The license costs $99, which is really nothing special but for each connector, the cable manufacturer has to pay Apple $4. This is a huge business for Apple, and that the EU completely shot down.
The decreased cable lifespan prompted people to buy new cables more often, generating more profit for Apple. Additionally, Apple earned money by licensing third-party manufacturers who wanted to sell cables under the “Made for iPhones” (MFi) program. The commission and licensing fees constituted a significant portion of Apple’s cable-related revenue, totalling a substantial 10 billion dollars
Did you knew that in the EU, the minimum warranty for any electronic device, is at least 3 years, which can be even higher depending on each member state own laws? From your perspective, this alone, might represent a 200% decrease in revenue, when compared to countries that only provide a 1 year warranty. How is this being pro corporations?
I will say this in the most respectfully way I can, but you’re full of shit.

The legality of ANYTHING, is subject to local jurisdiction, in this case it will be in EU/Italy. Also, while emulators may not be illegal, copying ROMs that are copyrighted to Nintendo of whichever may be the company that published said ROM, are.
- Comment on Would you considering watching playthroughs of a game the same as playing that game? 5 hours ago:
Well, ofc on some occasions I might watch a video to better understand something specific, but that’s really the last resort, as I prefer to play the game myself. I still don’t understand your argument, because unless you are watching a heavily edited video, you still need to watch all the “grinding”. I also find grinding enjoyable… it falls under the obsessive compulsive in me., so I just rather grind myself! =)

No. If I want a walkthrough I search for some written article. I don’t even understand the point of seeing other ppl playing games, that was always something that confused me.

If your butthole looks like a spiral, I’m sorry for your condition, and hope you get better soon. Thoughts and prayers!

You can literally just “buy” stuff, and put whatever your currency is, in your wallet. so the transaction was already made, to no specific product. How are they able to track that, is utter nonsense. This is just the companies forcing them to do their bidding. I mean if those games have questionable content (and by that I mean pedophilia or zoophilia), I do agree with that, and I feel that is a responsibility from Valve itself, not other companies.

While I personally have absolutely no incestual relationship desires, the only rational reason be against incest is really because there is the consanguinity issue, which can result in genetic deficiencies. Same-sex incest is for example, legal in Ireland and Germany.
Morally speaking… I too find it icky, but I’m pretty sure this is the result of how we were raised to think of it as being icky. As long as everyone involved able to legally consent, and there is no abusive power dynamic in the relationship, I really don’t judge. To each their own! Just don’t involve me in it! LOL

I’m going to file this as “untagged satire”… right? RIGHT???

I honestly don’t get it either… And I have nothing against porn, but some of these just sound and look like cheap copy/pastes and probably with little to no interactivity or gameplay. I’m curious to see how they are now, if only for comedic value.

I know that many ppl disliked 6, but honestly? I liked it more than 5, and I’ve been playing Civ since the first one, back in the 90’s. 5 for me was the biggest shock, because it introduced the hex map, and military units introduced that movement control rules, and you could no longer do stacks of doom!
With 6, I was already a bit more conformed with all the limitations, and while initially as most people, I disliked the 3D art, in the end, I actually learned to love it, and I feel that leaders were very lifelike, when it came to animations and facial expressions! For me that tops seeing leaders with crappy animations, which was what you had in 5 and apparently, now too with 7? I don’t own that one yet, but from what I saw, they look terrible.

That is a matter of opinion ofc… When it comes to mod development, they are by far, the best company I have ever seen. I even had the chance to talk with some of the game developers, when I was modding 2 of their games, and hey were very very willing to engage with the community. One of the games I modded was XCOM2, and they practically gave you EVERYTHING. You could almost compile the whole game on your own, such was the extent of the tools they provided (which was built over UDK 3). And when compared to other companies like Bethesda, they are light-years ahead.
What is in your opinion, specifically that makes them a company with “shitty development”? Care to elaborate? For someone with so much certainty about the topic, surely you most know how the games are developed and how the development tools work. Eager to engage in this discussion, in great detail!
