I don’t really have an opinion on that topic in general. M17 has been on my radar but I never bought a radio to actually start using it. Based on what Jonathan wrote I’d agree with his decision but that is only one perspective in that matter.

You can read up about the removal of M17 from MMDVM here. Boils down to Jonathan disagreeing with how the M17 maintainers operate their project. His impression is that they act not very much in the open source spirit.

I just recently realised how horrendous “no knife zones” in the Berlins public transport are. I literally cannot transport my straight razor to a honing shop via public transport without committing a crime and have to pay shipping via DHL within the city instead.

Usually I need a hot shower before shaving but had no time for that today. Apparently my choice of utensils was a good match for my skin today, no bloody spots at all! Just a tiny rash on the left side of my neck. Nice shave all in all, perfect start for the day.

The owner got the impression that as an EU citizen he has to state his full name and address in an imprint when he wants to run a website. Beyond that he fears being held legally accountable for stuff that he links to, which in case of blogs.radio as a link aggregator was quite a risk. He shut down all his websites, even his private blog.
