If MMA fighters had big jaws with teeth, and long sharp claws I don’t think wrestling would remain the best tactic.
Your opponent isn’t just going to turn their back on you, and if you try and grab them they can bite and hold on to you, and start clawing open deep wounds.

I don’t think primates choke at all in the wild, and I don’t think it’ll be the most effective method either.
When your opponent has claws and long teeth waiting for them to pass out while they dig their claws into you might not be the best strategy

What about a Drop Bear?
- Comment on Who would win in a fight, a Gorilla or a Bear of equal weight? 4 days ago:
Bears fight other bears in the wild all the time. They are predictors and hunt and kill all the time. Elk etc. Do fight back, they just don’t stand much of a chance.
Gorilla’s are herbivores

I don’t think intellect would get you very far.
Eg. I’m a lot smarter than most bears, but I’m pretty sure that I’d still lose in a fight.
- Comment on Who would win in a fight, a Gorilla or a Bear of equal weight? 4 days ago:
I strongly believe a Bear would easily win.
It has stronger Attack and Defence.
It has massive claws and will shred open a gorilla’s unprotected skin with it’s claws and teeth.
A gorilla has very little in terms of defence and that will be its downfall, it also only really has its teeth to attack with, and a Bear has thick skin to protect against that.
I don’t see how a Gorilla could deal a fatal blow to a bear before the bear would rip deep wounds into a Gorilla with it’s claws and teeth causing it to bleed out.

Touch screen steering is surely coming.
It will save the corporations tons of money not having to manufacture a steering wheel.
They’ll sell it as a “high tech feature” and use it as an excuse why the car is more expensive than last year

Right? That was my first experience too, the interactions and community on here feels great

Yea there’s lots of improvements that can be made, you can also try out other mobile apps like Sync and see if you like them more. When I was new I installed 4 of them and I actually use both Sync and Voyager now, sometimes switch between them just because.

Note there is a 500kb upload limit for images on lemm.ee, it could be that.
Alternatively you could just drop the image you’re trying to use in imgur.com and use that.

Their tracking capability sucks though, what you see in the promotional vids is now what they’re capable of.
The struggle to keep up with someone lightly jogging

I would think that any decent military would stockpile any spare parts they would need to 2 years.
I understand if the supply stops they will eventually run out, but this is basic assurances that I’d think any military worth its salt would have in place when buying weapons.

My thoughts exactly, I can’t imagine a military paying 100 million per F35, that somebody can just turn off remotely, leaving them dead in the water.

- Comment on Would it be possible to have p.lemm.ee like what p.lemmy.world has? 5 weeks ago:
it’s basically already hosted since phtn.app defaults to lemm.ee
but clean url’s matter so I think having p.lemm.ee would make a difference I feel

Also it handles sharing links a lot better

Fair but when you’re using mobile apps like Voyager or Sync you just get a error and don’t understand why
- Comment on Welcome, new users! 5 weeks ago:
It will come with time, if possible be the change you want to see. I’m trying to grow the South African sub.
It might take years but 🤷♂️
- Comment on Welcome, new users! 5 weeks ago:
Yea unfortunately a clean easy url matters
- Comment on Welcome, new users! 5 weeks ago:
That’s why I couldn’t upload images, the UI on mobile never gave me an error explaining this, it would be good to better make users aware of this.

a big driving force is r/BuyFromEU with 150k active subs and r/BuyCanadian with 300k
They’re trying to move away from US products, including tech.
Also the Luigi censorship as mentioned.
Now is a good time to comment something like this on those subs to help guide people.
Try out the European-Hosted Reddit alternative, Lemmy
It also has a Mobile-AppI use it alongside Reddit, and I’m enjoying it more and more, slowly switching over

One of the reasons I use this to promote Lemmy is that it defaults to lemm.ee and users don’t run into descision fatigue when picking an instance

It would be nice if it could also default to eg. sh.itjust.works and other generalist instances
